ctaThe Corporate Transparency Act (“CTA”) is a federal law that establishes a reporting duty for certain parties and a system through which the federal government, specifically the Treasury Department’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (“FinCEN”), collects, keeps, shares, and uses so-called “beneficial ownership information” for business entities.
